Silican Bend is a small mining community that sits along the Zirconis River. It is home to the Zirconis Mine, the most productive of all Meridonan gem mines. In the 1990's Silican Bend High School was one of 10 high schools throughout the island to play American football, which has grown to become the 2nd most popular sport on the island, behind soccer.
