Rocklodge is the sole town on Salkota Bay's Kaplan Island. It features thriving art, music, and club scenes, making it a popular home for young professionals in the Alasdairo region.
History
While the population of Meridona skyrocketed during the early 1800's, the immigrants brought a wide variety of diseases that the island was not prepared for. Genevieve Lamoreaux, a nurse and the daughter of a French industrialist, established the Saint's Heart Hospital on the island, which treated all incoming immigrants, greatly reducing disease throughout Meridona. With the construction of the hospital, housing followed, and the town of Rocklodge was established. Today, Saint's Heart Hospital continues to serve the region with advanced medical care, while still operating out of the same building, now over 2 centuries old.
Music scene
The music scene exploded in 1947, when American bluesman Willie "Rags" Teague released the iconic album Salkota Blues to worldwide acclaim. Today, Rocklodge is home to Rags Records and a variety of music venues, ranging from dive bars to the extravagant Teague Theatre, which has hosted some of the world's biggest names in music.
