Rollaway

Founded by: Conrad Folkestad (1798)
Population (2015 census): 962

Rollaway is a small agricultural community located on the island of the same name. The town was formerly known as New Rolla until 1976, when the name was officially changed. The name change dates back to the collapse of the Perreira Bridge in 1968 caused by the gradual (0.2 in - 1.4 in./year) drifting of the island away from Meridona. In light of this, locals began referring to the town as Rollaway, which became so popular and widely used that the town voted to make it the official name.
